Amaravati, Jan 24 (NationPress) YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) spokesperson and former minister R. K. Roja on Friday lambasted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh for returning from Davos with nothing to show and stated that they brought disgrace to the state instead of securing investments.
Roja informed reporters at her camp office in Nagari that the duo’s lack of capability has marred the state’s industrial reputation, deterring potential investors. She asserted that Lokesh’s so-called 'Red Book Constitution' has been a significant factor in driving industrialists away. In contrast, neighboring states like Telangana and Maharashtra have successfully attracted investments amounting to Rs 1.32 lakh crore and Rs 15.75 lakh crore respectively, while Chandrababu and Lokesh returned with nothing.
Despite having 14 years of administrative experience, Chandrababu’s governance has not delivered satisfactory results, she noted. Criticizing their trip to Davos, Roja pointed out that Rs 20 crore was squandered on promotional activities for Lokesh rather than concentrating on state improvement. She raised concerns about the exclusion of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who had politically supported Naidu, from the delegation, attributing it to internal insecurities.
Roja emphasized YS Jagan’s accomplishments, highlighting that during his administration, Andhra Pradesh secured Rs 1.26 lakh crore worth of MoUs from Davos and Rs 13.5 lakh crore during the Vizag Global Summit. Prominent industrialists, including Ambani, Adani, and Jindal, participated in these events, reflecting their confidence in Jagan’s transparent governance.
Roja further accused the TDP-led government of fostering a hostile climate for industrialists through political vendettas, misuse of laws, and spreading false narratives about the economy. She asserted that Jagan’s administration focuses on infrastructure development, peace, and industrial growth, which are the genuine factors attracting investments.
YS Jagan’s leadership has established a benchmark for industrial advancement, while Chandrababu and Lokesh’s actions have merely tarnished Andhra Pradesh’s reputation on global stages, she concluded.
In another development, YSRCP leader and former minister Seediri Appala Raju has urged the coalition government to reconsider its decision to privatize medical colleges to ensure better services and increase the number of seats for students in the medical field. He stated that Chandrababu Naidu has a longstanding history of favoring privatization, and currently, he is transferring medical colleges under a PPP model while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has introduced reforms to establish 17 medical colleges, one in each district, which has attracted national attention.
Throughout his tenure as Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu did not establish a single medical college, whereas YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has added five medical colleges during his term from 2019-24, which has increased the number of medical seats, Raju stated.
