New Delhi, March 11 (NationPress) On Wednesday, Congress representatives responded strongly to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's comments criticizing senior Congress figures for their lack of visits to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, pointing fingers at the BJP for intertwining politics with religion.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari defended his party, stating that while Congress leaders do visit the temple, they refrain from media publicity during these visits. "We do not visit with cameras in tow. I have visited the temple three or four times myself," he asserted. Tiwari urged the Madhya Pradesh administration to prioritize governance over making political statements.

"My advice to Mohan Yadav is to focus on the law and order issues in your state. You ought to feel ashamed. A 90-year-old woman is gang-raped in your state, and you are busy making such remarks," he emphasized.

In response to Yadav's comments, Congress leader Surendra Rajput stated that temple visits should remain a personal choice and cannot be dictated by political adversaries. "Will we consult you before visiting the temple, Mohan Yadav? We do not engage in vote bank politics under the guise of Sanatan Dharma as your party does," Rajput remarked.

These statements followed Yadav's accusations on Tuesday, where he asserted that prominent Congress leaders have not visited the Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya, hinting at their reluctance.

During a workshop in Indore, part of the BJP’s ‘Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Training Maha Abhiyan 2026’, Yadav claimed that BJP cadres are trained not only in political communication but also grasp the significance of nationalism and development. He accused senior Congress leaders of having previously opposed the temple's construction.

The chief minister alleged that the Congress party has consistently hindered the Ram temple's construction in Ayodhya and suggested that its leaders are now hesitant to visit the sacred site. Yadav described this situation as a reflection of the "true character" of the Congress, highlighting the fundamental differences between the BJP and the Congress.

Point of View

It's clear that the intersection of religion and politics remains a contentious issue in India. The Congress party's emphasis on personal faith versus the BJP's political framing of religious visits underscores a significant divide in contemporary Indian politics.
