Madhya Pradesh CM Asserts 'Absolute Intolerance' Toward Corruption

Bhopal, Dec 23 (NationPress) In response to corruption accusations from the Opposition Congress regarding the BJP administration in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared on Monday that his government upholds an 'absolute intolerance' for corruption.
CM Yadav emphasized that his administration is progressing with the same dedication he pledged on his first day in office.
He asserted that all toll plazas or entry points where illegal operations were detected have been immediately shut down.
"Our government has implemented various stringent measures right from the outset (of taking office as CM), and addressing corruption at toll plazas was a priority. We have conducted exhaustive investigations at all toll plazas, and swift actions were taken," he stated.
The remarks from Chief Minister Yadav came a day after the Congress party accused the BJP government of transforming Madhya Pradesh into a 'center of scams' and failing to take decisive action against the collusion of officials and politically connected individuals who have operated in the state for years.
The recent recovery of 52 kg of gold and Rs 9.86 crore in cash, along with documents pertaining to undisclosed assets from a former Regional Transport Office (RTO) constable during raids by multiple agencies, has ignited a political uproar in Madhya Pradesh.
On Sunday, Congress demanded that the names of both former and current Road Transport Ministers, along with department officials and their family members, be included in the ongoing Lokayukta investigation against ex-RTO constable Sourabh Sharma.
Pointing to the Income Tax Department searches targeting builders in the state, the Opposition Congress called for an inquiry to explore connections between builders and both retired and currently serving bureaucrats within the BJP government.
In response to CM Yadav's comments, senior Congress leader and former Minister Mukesh Nayak, who oversees the state media department, remarked that the Chief Minister has finally admitted to the presence of corruption within the RTO department.
"CM Yadav has acknowledged that there was significant corruption involved in the RTO department. If that is the case, why hasn't he taken action against senior officials and the Transport Minister? Why are compromised officials being protected?" Nayak questioned.
