Madhya Pradesh's CM Yadav Asserts 'Zero Tolerance' Stance on Corruption Under BJP Leadership

Bhopal, Dec 23 (NationPress) In response to corruption allegations made by the Opposition Congress against the BJP-led government in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated on Monday that his administration upholds a 'zero tolerance' policy against corruption.
Chief Minister Yadav reiterated that his government is progressing with the same dedication he pledged on the very first day of his term as Chief Minister.
He asserted that all toll plazas or entry points where illegal activities were detected have been promptly shut down.
"Our government implemented several decisive measures right from the outset of my term as CM, with the eradication of corruption at toll plazas being a priority. We have conducted comprehensive investigations at all toll plazas, leading to immediate action," he remarked.
Yadav's declaration came just a day after Congress accused the BJP government of transforming Madhya Pradesh into a 'hub of scams' and failing to take stringent actions against the collusion of officials and politically influential individuals operating in the state for many years.
The recent seizure of 52 kg of gold and ₹9.86 crore in cash, along with documents related to unaccounted assets from a former Regional Transport Office (RTO) constable during raids by various agencies, has ignited a political uproar in Madhya Pradesh.
On Sunday, Congress sought the inclusion of names of both former and current Road Transport Ministers, as well as department officials and their relatives, in the ongoing Lokayukta investigation concerning ex-RTO constable Sourabh Sharma.
Referring to the Income Tax Department's searches targeting builders in the state, the opposition Congress called for an inquiry into the connections between these builders and both retired and currently serving bureaucrats within the BJP government.
In response to CM Yadav's comments, senior Congress leader and former Minister Mukesh Nayak, who oversees the state media department, claimed that the Chief Minister has finally acknowledged the existence of corruption within the RTO department.
"CM Yadav has admitted that serious corruption was present in the RTO department. If that is the case, why has he not taken any action against senior officials and the Transport Minister? Why are corrupt officials being protected?" Nayak questioned.
