Indore, Jan 14 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticized the opposition Congress on Wednesday, claiming they are leveraging tragedies for political advantage. He emphasized that the state government is open to receiving constructive feedback from the opposition, but insists it must be done in a respectful manner.
"It's disheartening to see Congress treat disasters as a platform for political maneuvering. We approach these matters with seriousness and empathy. I urge them to present their concerns positively. If they continue politicizing these tragedies, the citizens of Indore will not forgive them," CM Yadav remarked.
These comments were made during an event related to AMRUT 2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) in Indore.
The Chief Minister accused the Congress party of consistently exploiting such incidents for their own political benefits.
He further mentioned that the Congress has a long history of misdeeds. "I won’t reiterate the mistakes they made while in power. I suggest they think carefully before criticizing the BJP, as it may backfire," he cautioned.
CM Yadav also highlighted that Indore is a shining example for the rest of Madhya Pradesh, and that other districts aspire to achieve similar levels of development.
He noted that during Congress's rule in Madhya Pradesh, the Malwa-Nimar region was neglected regarding access to Narmada water.
During the event, the Chief Minister conducted the 'bhoomi-poojan' for the 'Jal Praday Yojana' (water supply initiative) under AMRUT 2.0 in Indore, a project valued at Rs 800 crore.
Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya was also present, challenging Congress leaders to engage in a debate regarding Indore's progress.
Vijayvargiya remarked that the tragedy in Bhagirathpura has profoundly affected Indore, and the government is dedicated to providing all necessary support to the affected.
He described this incident as a testing time, stating: "Challenges will arise, but we must confront them together. Criticizing one another is not the solution. For those protesting in Indore, I can share the positive steps the BJP has taken towards Indore's development."
