Is Rahul Gandhi Using Human Tragedies for Political Gain in Indore?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, Jan 16 (NationPress) As Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha and a prominent Congress figure, prepares to visit Indore tomorrow, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has launched a fierce criticism against him. The Chief Minister accused Gandhi of exploiting the unfortunate deaths of individuals in the Bhagirathpura region, which occurred due to tainted water.
Yadav pointed out that many tragedies have unfolded in states governed by Congress, such as Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, yet Gandhi has not shown up to address those crises.
"Rahul Gandhi isn’t visiting to console the grieving families in Bhagirathpura; instead, he is engaging in political maneuvering over human casualties," Yadav stated.
During an event in Narmadapuram district, he delivered the 32nd installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, amounting to nearly Rs 1,836 crore, benefiting over 1.25 crore recipients of the scheme.
Additionally, he allocated more than Rs 90 crore to assist 29 lakh beneficiaries with gas cylinder refills under the Ujwala Yojana.
While addressing the gathering, CM Yadav expressed his empathy for the victims' families in Bhagirathpura and took decisive action by suspending an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer linked to the water crisis.
This action referred to the suspension of Rohit Sisoniya, an IAS officer from the 2017 batch, who served as the Additional Commissioner of the Indore Municipal Corporation.
Further criticizing Congress, Yadav reminded the public of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy that occurred on December 3, 1984, during the Congress administration, implicating former Chief Minister Arjun Singh in facilitating Warren Anderson's escape, the CEO of Union Carbide Corporation, under the orders of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
“Rahul Gandhi should be held accountable for the actions of his father and grandmother. They have questioned the existence of Lord Ram and opposed the construction of the Ayodhya temple. If Congress continues this trajectory, the people of Madhya Pradesh will not forgive them,” Yadav declared.
Gandhi is expected to arrive in Indore at approximately 11 a.m. on Saturday and plans to meet patients at the Bombay Hospital before visiting the affected area of Bhagirathpura.
Currently, around a dozen patients remain hospitalized, with six receiving intensive care.
