Bhopal, Jan 16 (NationPress) On the eve of his visit to Indore, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a prominent figure in the Congress party, faced a fierce critique from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The Chief Minister accused Gandhi of politicizing the tragic deaths of individuals in the Bhagirathpura region caused by contaminated water.

Yadav pointed out that while people have lost their lives in Congress-governed states like Hyderabad in Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, Gandhi did not make an effort to visit those locations.

“Rahul Gandhi is not coming to comfort the grieving families in Bhagirathpura; instead, he is manipulating the situation for political gain,” Yadav remarked.

This commentary came during an event in Narmadapuram district, where the Chief Minister distributed the 32nd installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, amounting to approximately Rs 1,836 crore, benefiting over 1.25 crore recipients. He also allocated over Rs 90 crore for gas cylinder refilling assistance to 29 lakh beneficiaries under the Ujwala Yojana.

During the address, Yadav expressed his empathy for the victims in Bhagirathpura and announced the suspension of an IAS officer, Rohit Sisoniya, responsible for the water crisis in Indore.

Yadav further criticized the Congress party by recalling the Bhopal Gas Tragedy of December 3, 1984, which occurred under the Congress administration, mentioning how former Chief Minister Arjun Singh had facilitated the escape of Warren Anderson, then CEO of Union Carbide Corporation, under the guidance of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

“Rahul Gandhi should apologize for the misdeeds of his father and grandmother. The Congress has questioned the existence of Lord Ram and opposed the Ayodhya temple. If they continue this trend, the people of Madhya Pradesh will not forgive them,” CM Yadav stated.

Rahul Gandhi is expected to arrive in Indore on Saturday at around 11 a.m., where he plans to meet patients at the Bombay Hospital and visit the Bhagirathpura area.

Currently, nearly a dozen individuals remain hospitalized, with six in the ICU.

Point of View

It is crucial to recognize the depths of political maneuvering surrounding humanitarian issues.
