Bhopal, Nov 8 (NationPress) As the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress member Rahul Gandhi commenced a two-day journey to Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, political tensions between Congress and BJP escalated.
Taking the lead in the criticism, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of the Bhartiya Janata Party mocked Rahul Gandhi, labeling his visit to Pachmarhi, the state's only hill station, as a mere “holiday excursion”.
The Chief Minister pointed out that while leaders nationwide are campaigning in the Bihar elections, Rahul Gandhi has chosen to retreat to the tranquil hills of Pachmarhi.
“Rahul Gandhi departed from the election scene as he has recognized the impending defeat of Congress in Bihar. Following the election results, he is likely to emerge with justifications and question the Election Commission,” he remarked.
During a public rally supporting BJP candidates in Madhubani district, CM Yadav stated, “If Rahul Gandhi is off enjoying himself while leaving the Congress party to deal with its issues, it raises serious concerns for them.”
Rahul Gandhi's visit to Madhya Pradesh aims to address an important training session for district Congress leaders at a hotel in Pachmarhi.
Additionally, he plans to convene with senior Congress officials from the state.
Initially, the exchange of political jabs commenced when Rahul Gandhi criticized Chief Minister Yadav through a social media post, accusing the BJP of engaging in corruption.
It’s worth noting that Rahul Gandhi is holding consecutive meetings with state Congress leaders and will dine with them, spending the night at Ravishankar Bhavan in Pachmarhi.
He is expected to resume his campaign for the Bihar elections on Sunday afternoon.
