Madhya Pradesh CM Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Over AI Summit Protests
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, Feb 25 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav sharply criticized Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, amidst the backlash surrounding the shirtless protest by Youth Congress members at the recent AI Summit in New Delhi. Yadav stated that the Congress party "always finds ways to tarnish the nation’s reputation."
“As India ascends as a global powerhouse under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party consistently seek to promote their agenda on international platforms. At events like the AI Summit, his supporters focused on self-promotion rather than celebrating India's accomplishments,” Yadav expressed on X.
Yadav further targeted the Nehru-Gandhi family, claiming they have continuously prioritized politics over national interests.
“Has the Nehru-Gandhi family ever considered the pride of the nation in their quest for power?” the MP CM questioned.
His comments followed Rahul Gandhi's criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party government regarding the detention of Congress workers, including Indian Youth Congress chief Uday Bhanu Chib, by Delhi Police. During a ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ in Bhopal on Tuesday, Gandhi motivated party members, referring to them as “Congress ke babarsher, lage raho.”
On the same day, Delhi Police apprehended Chib, labeling him a key figure in the protest that purportedly involved anti-national slogans. He was brought before a Delhi district court and placed in four days of police custody.
The police also detained three Congress youth members from Gwalior for their alleged involvement in the shirtless protest at the AI Summit venue. The trio, identified as Jitendra Yadav, Raj Gujjar, and Ajay Kumar, were taken into custody late on Monday night.
Last week, the Youth Congress organized a shirtless protest at Bharat Mandapam, criticizing the AI Impact Summit and claiming that the Prime Minister was “compromised.”
During the demonstration, participants removed their shirts as a form of protest. The Youth Congress stated this was aimed at opposing a “compromised Prime Minister who has compromised the identity of the nation at the AI Summit.”
