Did Rahul Gandhi Act as an 'Urban Naxal' by Orchestrating the AI Summit Protest?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fierce critique of the Congress regarding the AI Summit protest, senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of defaming India on an international scale and asserted that the protest highlighted the growing crisis within the Congress.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh stated that the Congress demonstration during the recent India AI Summit had damaged the country’s reputation globally and blamed Rahul Gandhi for orchestrating the event.
He claimed that the Congress protest was executed under Rahul Gandhi's directives and resulted in the party becoming isolated both nationally and internationally.
"Should I label him (Rahul Gandhi) an 'abodh balak', an urban Naxal, or merely a frustrated individual? He has defamed India, and the public will not forgive him for what occurred under his instructions," Union Minister Singh remarked.
He further noted that the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition was not fulfilling his role as the Leader of the Opposition.
In agreement, Bihar Minister and seasoned BJP leader Dilip Kumar Jaiswal asserted that the controversy harmed the Congress more than the nation.
"India hasn't been defamed -- it is the Congress that has suffered globally," he stated, adding that the Congress has become directionless and is gradually losing its grassroots support.
He also suggested that even students and youth affiliated with the Congress are feeling ashamed.
These comments came shortly after PM Modi, while speaking at a public event in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, criticized the Congress for its youth wing's 'shirtless protest' at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi during the AI Summit.
The Prime Minister characterized the demonstration as proof that the oldest political party in the country has become ideologically bankrupt and accused it of transforming a global event into a platform for local political issues.
PM Modi also expressed gratitude to allies within the INDIA bloc for condemning the Congress protest, appreciating their distance from the incident.
The protest by members of the Youth Congress raised slogans concerning issues like unemployment, inflation, and the rumored India-US trade deal, igniting a political uproar and intense exchanges between the BJP-led central government and the Opposition.
