Mumbai, Dec 20 (NationPress) Renowned actress Madhuri Dixit, celebrated for her remarkable performances over a career that spans nearly four decades, has shared insights about her potential future in direction.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Madhuri expressed that despite her extensive experience, she currently feels unprepared to take on directing.
When asked about her aspirations to move into direction, she responded, "Many people inquire about this because I have been in the industry for 40 years, which provides significant experience from observing and collaborating with various directors. However, I believe I need to be fully ready for that role, and at this time, I am not. Perhaps in the future, though."
During the discussion, Madhuri also reminisced about the changes in filmmaking since her debut in "Abodh" to her recent role in "Mrs Deshpande".
The iconic 'Dhak Dhak' girl noted that the filmmaking process has become more structured now, a stark contrast to the earlier days.
She stated, "Back then, there were only a handful of well-organized producers like Yash Chopra, B R Chopra, Subhash Ghai, and Rajshri Productions. The rest of the production landscape was quite chaotic. Nowadays, the organization is remarkable. In the past, we relied heavily on spontaneity; today, we can prepare thoroughly for roles. We now receive scripts and enjoy amenities like RVs for relaxation between takes, which we lacked back then. We often found ourselves sitting under the sun with just an umbrella for shade."
"Today, actors are provided with comfort, and the preparation for characters is more comprehensive. We have precise knowledge of our costumes and looks before filming, and rehearsals are commonplace, which was not the case during my early days," Madhuri added.
