Bhopal, Aug 14 (NationPress) Starting from August 15, all essential services in Madhya Pradesh will be accessible through the single service number 112, as announced by an official on Thursday.
The services that will now be reachable via 112 include Police (100), Health/Ambulance (108), Fire (101), Women’s Helpline (1090), Cybercrime (1930), Railway Assistance (139), Highway Accident Response (1099), Natural Disaster (1079), and Women & Child Helplines (181, 1098).
During the launch of the "Dial 112" service, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reflected on the significance of "Dial 100", which was India’s first centralized emergency police response service introduced in 2015.
Dial 100 became a vital tool for enhancing safety in crime situations, establishing a new standard for public safety by offering rapid, technology-driven assistance in urban and rural contexts.
This service has since been embraced by several states, including Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched the Dial 112 service in the presence of Madhya Pradesh's Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, just before the Independence Day celebrations.
Yadav, speaking at a gathering of police officials at Bhopal's Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre, expressed confidence that the Dial 112 emergency services would effectively meet public needs.
With this initiative, all emergency services will now be managed from a single control room overseen by the Madhya Pradesh Police, ensuring that departments are alerted as per user demands.
“With the integration of new technologies, Dial 112 promises to be more dependable and precise. I am optimistic that this service will enhance public support and transparency,” stated the Chief Minister.
He also mentioned the Madhya Pradesh government's plan to transfer control of CCTV cameras installed in civil departments to the police, which will assist various entities including law enforcement and the judiciary.
“The state government supports the police force in every initiative aimed at improving citizens' welfare. We have also announced an increase in recruitment for the Police Department. I extend my congratulations and best wishes to the state police on the launch of the Dial 112 emergency service,” Yadav concluded.
