The Chief Minister convened senior administrative and police officials at the Disaster Control Room (State Command Centre) located at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal to thoroughly evaluate public safety measures.
Upon the conclusion of the assessment meeting, Chief Minister Yadav revealed that over 2,900 individuals stranded in flood-impacted regions have been successfully rescued from various locations in the state, with ongoing operations in other affected areas.
"All individuals trapped in flood-prone zones are being rescued and relocated to safer locations, receiving necessary assistance. The Central Government has also provided support for the rescue efforts in two districts: Guna and Ashoknagar," he stated.
Additionally, the Chief Minister urged the citizens of Madhya Pradesh to exercise caution as significant rainfall is anticipated in the upcoming days.
"I encourage the people of Madhya Pradesh not to panic but to stay vigilant during this monsoon season. The state government is closely monitoring the situation and is dedicated to ensuring the safety of every citizen," he emphasized.
Heavy rainfall has been reported in several districts since Monday, with Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sagar, Raisen, Vidisha, and Bhopal being the most severely impacted.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is conducting airlifting operations for those stranded in flood-affected areas of Guna and Shivpuri districts.
The National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Fund, along with local administration and police, are actively engaged in rescue operations in Guna, Ashoknagar, and Shivpuri districts within the Gwalior-Chambal region.
State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal also urged party members to assist flood-affected individuals in their respective districts and blocks.
Earlier, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that the IAF is airlifting those stranded in flood-affected areas within his Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh's Guna.
He indicated that he had communicated with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Air Vice Marshal Vikram Gaur, and Air Officer Commanding Manish Sharma to seek all possible assistance for rescuing those trapped in flood-stricken areas.
"I remain in continuous contact with district administration, NDRF, and the Madhya Pradesh government. The safety of every citizen is our top priority, and our ongoing efforts are focused in that direction," Union Minister Scindia posted on the social media platform X.
