As the weekend approaches this auspicious occasion, the city is experiencing a surge of pilgrims from every direction. Railway stations, bus terminals, and highways are bustling with pilgrims eager to reach Sangam for a sacred dip on this day.
Over the last two days (Friday and Saturday), more than 1.25 crore devotees have bathed at the Sangam. The crowd is anticipated to increase dramatically, with projections of 8-10 crore devotees expected to participate in the Mauni Amavasya bathing ritual. The fair administration and Kumbh police have made extensive preparations to guarantee a smooth experience for all attendees.
To ensure order and facilitate movement, the entire fair area has been designated as a no-vehicle zone. Efforts are underway to install barricades along the banks to effectively manage the crowd.
Special provisions have been implemented across various sectors and zones to assist in the movement of devotees. During the Amrit Snan festival, no special protocol will be enforced to prioritize the convenience of the public.
The Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC) has been activated to monitor crowd density and prevent excessive gatherings at Sangam Nose. Quick-response teams have been deployed in high-density areas to address emergencies, while major routes are being closely observed. Surveillance is also being conducted to identify suspicious individuals and avert any potential incidents.
A campaign is underway to address illegal shops operating within the fair area. Measures are in place to ensure clean and wider roads for devotees. Sanitation workers have been directed to maintain cleanliness.
All parking areas have been activated and equipped with essential facilities for devotees. According to the traffic plan, vehicles will first be routed to the nearest parking zones, followed by alternative parking areas. More than 2,000 new signages have been installed to assist devotees in navigating the area smoothly.
Devotees are encouraged to download the official chatbot of the fair, which provides comprehensive information to facilitate their journey. In addition to the chatbot, Google navigation and on-ground police will be available to help pilgrims find the correct routes.
