Mumbai, April 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, convened a ‘War Room’ meeting on Monday to assess the progress of 15 crucial infrastructure initiatives and directed the administration to ensure that all work adheres to the established timelines.

He also reviewed 18 infrastructure projects that were part of discussions in the previous War Room meeting.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) reported that this meeting covered numerous significant projects spanning Mumbai, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Western Maharashtra.

Among the projects reviewed were the Mumbai Metro Line 2B (from DN Nagar to Mandale), Metro Line 4 (Wadala to Kasarvadavali), Metro Line 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), Metro Line 6 (from Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli), Metro Line 7A (Andheri to CSM International Airport Terminal 2), Metro Line 9 (Dahisar East to Mira Bhayander), the Orange Gate to Marine Drive Tunnel Project, the Borivali to Thane Twin Tunnel Project, Uttan-Virar Sea Link, Sewri-Worli Elevated Corridor, Pune Metro, Dahisar to Bhayander Link Road, Goregaon-Magathane DP Road, Goregaon–Mulund Link Road, and the Northern Coastal Road.

The Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of thorough planning to ensure rapid completion of developmental projects.

He urged the relevant departments to conduct internal meetings to address challenges, ensuring that all development activities are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

He also instructed that the land acquisition process be accelerated to facilitate the availability of land for these projects.

“All necessary permissions related to forest and environmental concerns must be obtained without delay, and zonal master plans should be developed as required. Advanced technologies should be utilized for precise surveying in large-scale projects like the Dharavi redevelopment,” he stated.

He emphasized the urgency of resolving land acquisition issues for the Wardha-Nanded railway project, which connects Vidarbha and Marathwada.

“The acquisition of private land for the Wardha-Gadchiroli railway line should be finalized within a week. For the Vadhavan Port Project, which is essential for maritime transport, issues concerning forest land must be addressed promptly. The Vadhavan Port is anticipated to create substantial employment, thus its implementation should be expedited,” the Chief Minister added.

He further directed that immediate actions must be taken regarding land acquisition for metro projects in Mumbai and Pune.

“Technical challenges in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar City Water Supply Project should be resolved swiftly, and work should begin immediately. The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) must secure land for the Magathane to Goregaon DP Road, and necessary wildlife clearances should be granted without delay,” he instructed.

He also directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority to transfer tenements allocated for project-affected individuals to the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

In the last ‘War Room’ meeting, the Chief Minister had reviewed approximately 18 projects. At that time, 73 issues were raised, of which 31 have been addressed, with efforts continuing to resolve the remaining concerns.
