Ahilyanagar (Maharashtra), May 31 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Saturday that the contributions and principles of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar continue to influence the state administration. He emphasized her establishment of a just system and her efforts to aid those wronged by injustice.
“In alignment with her values of public service and governance, the state will strive for the upliftment of the underprivileged,” remarked the Maharashtra CM during the celebration of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar's Tricentenary Birth Anniversary at Shrikshetra Chondi.
CM Fadnavis highlighted that Ahilyadevi's reign extended for 28 years.
Her impact was revolutionary, spanning political, social, economic, religious, and cultural dimensions. She dedicated herself to the restoration of temples, the construction of ghats, the establishment of dharamshalas, and the creation of water supply systems to empower the poor and women.
“Using her personal resources, Ahilyadevi Holkar renovated sacred sites nationwide, including Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Pandharpur, Nashik, and Jejuri. She was instrumental in rebuilding the Somnath temple. This initiative will disseminate her legacy across the nation,” he added.
