“Simply formulating plans is insufficient; practical implementation must be pursued diligently, and it is crucial to consistently aim for improved national and international rankings of universities,” the Governor stated.
He made these remarks during a workshop titled ‘National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and Vision Maharashtra 2047’.
Governor Devvrat pointed out that universities should serve as hubs of knowledge and culture.
“Teachers must foster close connections with their students. Increased dialogue and collaboration between teachers and students will ensure comprehensive student development. Furthermore, students should engage actively in extracurricular activities like sports, NCC, and NSS. A fit body and an agile mind are foundational to quality education,” he remarked.
“Universities ought to design employable curricula that align closely with industry needs. Education must contribute to societal and national advancement. Ongoing training for educators and administrative personnel is vital to keep pace with evolving technologies. The higher the quality of training, the better the educational standards will be. Elevating the quality of our training institutions is imperative,” the Governor added.
According to Governor Devvrat, there is a necessity to instill in students an appreciation for Indian culture, traditions, and moral values.
“Universities should invite speakers who can inspire students with valuable life lessons. Enhancing communication with students, understanding their challenges, and providing appropriate guidance is essential. The dedication with which we work will reflect in the contributions students make towards the nation’s progress. Continuous dialogue and collaboration among government entities, the education department, and universities is crucial. By focusing on planning, training, and cultural development, Maharashtra can undoubtedly emerge as the leading educational state in the country,” he concluded.
