Mumbai, July 30 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, has instructed the administration to finalize the establishment of solar power projects, amounting to 5,000 MW, under the prestigious Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 by September this year.
He emphasized the importance of meeting this goal without any delays and urged all state agencies involved in this initiative to expedite their work in a timely manner.
This statement was made during a meeting convened to assess land availability and other related challenges in the execution of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0.
The state government has set a target of achieving 30 percent feeder solarisation by 2025, dubbed 'Mission 2025', by fast-tracking the development of 7,000 MW of decentralized solar projects. These projects will be installed within a 5 to 10 km radius of agriculture load-dominant distribution substations, with capacities ranging from 0.5 to 25 MW, aimed at providing daytime electricity to farmers.
Chief Minister Fadnavis stated, "The Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 is my flagship initiative. Local agencies must collaborate effectively for the solar projects being undertaken by both the private sector and governmental bodies. It is essential for the district-level task force to periodically monitor the current progress under this scheme. No-objection certificates must be secured for the work, and issues faced by developers should be prioritized for resolution."
He further noted that the district-wise efforts should be intensified to ensure that 5,000 MW of electricity is generated through the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 by September 2025.
Additionally, Chief Minister Fadnavis remarked that the District Collector should prioritize leasing alternative lands, resolving crop encroachments, clearing permanent structure encroachments, restoring roads, and promptly measuring and demarcating land where necessary, along with issuing no-objection certificates to the gram panchayats.
He also instructed the police to take immediate legal action against any theft of materials related to solar projects.
He urged the district administration and implementing agencies to exercise caution while working on the scheme in densely populated regions.
Guidelines must be adhered to when cutting trees, and if power lines traverse forest areas, permission should be obtained from the Forest Department promptly.
Furthermore, he called for the Forest Department to act swiftly in issuing no-objection permits for private and adjacent forest areas within the designated timeframe.
