Los Angeles, March 19 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors has shared his desire to make a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The 35-year-old star, known for his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Disney+ series ‘Loki’ and the 2023 hit ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, was let go by Marvel following his conviction on two counts of reckless assault and harassment against his former partner, Grace Jabbari. However, he has now expressed interest in reprising his character for any future MCU endeavors, as reported by ‘Female First UK’.
When asked in an interview with USA Today if he would return to the MCU to play Kang again, he responded, “Yeah, of course I say yes. Disney, Marvel Studios, I love them.”
According to ‘Female First UK’, Majors also praised his ‘Loki’ co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, as well as Paul Rudd from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, stating that he “loved working” with them.
He remarked, “Tom Hiddleston, loved working with that guy. Loved working with Paul Rudd. Loved working with Gugu Mbatha-Raw. I love the industry so much, and now I’m in the place where I can feel the love from them and actually express my love for them.”
In addition to Kang, Majors mentioned his willingness to reprise his role as Damian ‘Diamond Dame’ Anderson in a future Creed installment, which centers around Michael B. Jordan’s character, Adonis Creed. However, he noted that “the version of (him) that would come back to those places would be different.”
In an interview with ‘Entertainment Weekly’, he stated, “I don't think anything different would happen between ‘action’ and ‘cut’. That's why I got the job. But there would be something different about it if I were to come back, and I would like that. But as I said, it's not in my control.”
Jordan also recently expressed his desire to collaborate on a fourth Creed film with Majors. The 'Sinners' star told The Hollywood Reporter, “I would love to make 'Creed IV' together, among other projects.”
Although there were no solid plans for Majors to return to the ‘Creed’ franchise before his conviction, his character Kang was initially intended to be the main antagonist in Marvel’s ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’. However, the studio opted to drop this storyline and instead reintroduced Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ following Majors’ guilty verdict for third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.
After it was revealed that Downey Jr. would be taking over as the franchise's next major villain at San Diego Comic Con last year, Majors expressed feeling “heartbroken.”
