New Delhi, Dec 31 (NationPress) The political tension intensified on Wednesday as Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal delivered a harsh critique of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding her resistance to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, asserting that she has lost her sanity.

In reaction to Banerjee’s threats to encircle the Election Commission (EC) office in Delhi, Jaiswal remarked, “Mamata Banerjee has lost her sanity. The residents of Bengal will not tolerate her support for illegal immigrants and the efforts to shield them.”

Jaiswal further criticized the TMC government's position on alleged illegal immigration, in light of remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He emphasized, “The citizens and voters of this nation will not endorse illegal infiltration or the splitting of national resources. Individuals from Bangladesh and other nations are entering India and infringing upon our rights.”

His comments underscored the BJP's accusation that Mamata Banerjee is fostering illegal migration within the state.

This clash ensued following Banerjee’s robust declarations in Bankura district, where she promised to surround the EC office in Delhi if even one valid voter is removed from the final electoral rolls post-SIR.

In a direct hit at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, she labeled the SIR a colossal “scam” allegedly orchestrated through artificial intelligence. “SIR is being executed using AI, and it’s a significant scam,” Banerjee stated.

She also claimed that the underprivileged are being “tormented” by the procedure. “Approximately 60 people have died due to SIR. Elderly individuals are being summoned for document verification hearings,” she warned, indicating that the TMC would take action if voter names were improperly excluded: “If even a single legitimate voter’s name is omitted, the TMC will gherao the office of the Election Commission in Delhi.”

In response to Shah’s allegation that West Bengal has turned into a haven for terrorists under the TMC, Banerjee retorted: “If there are no terrorists in J&K, how could Pahalgam occur? Were you responsible for the attack in Pahalgam? Who orchestrated the incident that transpired in Delhi?”

Point of View

It is crucial to approach this situation with an unbiased lens. The conflict between the BJP and TMC highlights deep-rooted political divides. While accusations of illegal immigration and electoral integrity are serious, it’s essential to focus on constructive dialogue and solutions for the people of Bengal. The political landscape is charged, and the actions of both parties will have far-reaching consequences.
