The incident took place when the girl attended the coaching institute situated on Narenra Tiwari road under the jurisdiction of the Annapoorna police station in the city during the evening hours on Monday.

Upon learning of the incident, the girl promptly informed her parents, who, along with some relatives, stormed into the coaching institute and assaulted the accused, identified as Adesh Joshi, as per police statements.

The local police responded swiftly and arrested the accused after receiving the alert. A video circulated on social media depicting the accused being attacked by a group of individuals while being escorted to the police station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 1, Indore, Krishna Lalchandani, addressed the incident on Tuesday, confirming that the victim reported attending the coaching center on Monday evening.

Upon her complaint, she recounted to the police that after arriving at the coaching institute, she left her bag in a classroom on the first floor and descended to the ground floor. During this time, the manager allegedly called her to sit beside him.

According to police reports, the accused then attempted to force her to kiss him in a hallway. The frightened student managed to escape and sought refuge with a senior teacher, where she disclosed the entire ordeal.

Shaken and terrified, she returned home and recounted the incident to her family.

“We received information about a female student being molested by the manager of Catalyser Coaching Institute. Subsequently, the parents arrived and confronted the accused. The police quickly intervened and apprehended him,” DCP Lalchandani stated.

The accused has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and has been remanded to custody, with DCP Lalchandani noting that the Annapoorna police station has also issued a notice to the owner of the coaching institute.

“A notice has been served to the owner of the coaching institute, requiring him to provide an explanation and details about his staff. He must confirm whether all employees underwent police verification. Should he fail to adhere to these regulations, the police will take appropriate action against him,” DCP added.
