New Delhi, Sep 13 (NationPress) Manoj Tiwari, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a well-known figure in Bhojpuri cinema, has made a bold prediction regarding the upcoming India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup.
He emphasized that historically, Pakistan has faced defeat against India on numerous occasions, asserting that the Indian squad will triumph in the match scheduled for Sunday. Tiwari remarked, “Cricket serves not just as a source of entertainment but also as a platform that unites people and inspires the youth.”
The MP further clarified that while India will not engage in cricket matches hosted in Pakistan, it will continue to take part in international tournaments, including the World Cup and Asia Cup. He noted, “Pakistan has become increasingly isolated on the world stage. Perhaps through cricket, they will learn how to treat their neighbors appropriately,” he stated.
Tiwari added, “International matches come with their own set of rules that must be adhered to.”
This statement was made during the inaugural ceremony of the Artist Event Cricket League (AECL) in Delhi, where he participated in the launch of the league, describing it as a remarkable blend of sports and entertainment.
He highlighted that this marks the seventh edition of AECL, featuring 12 teams, each comprising a celebrity to enhance the tournament's appeal. The league will span four days, concluding on September 18.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and several ministers from the Delhi government are expected to grace the closing ceremony.
AECL co-founder Ashish Mathur expressed pride in their initiative at the opening ceremony, stating, “This is our seventh edition, and we are excited to bring sports and entertainment together on a single platform. With 12 teams competing and a celebrity in each, this event promises to be special. Matches are set to commence on September 14, culminating in the closing ceremony on September 18.”
He described AECL as a significant initiative paving new avenues in the realms of art and sports.
Mathur added, “Events like AECL ignite new enthusiasm among fans of entertainment and sports, showcasing a unique blend of celebrities and athletes.”
