Lucknow, Sep 6 (NationPress) The leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati, has decided to reverse the expulsion of Ashok Siddharth, a former Rajya Sabha MP and the father-in-law of the party's national coordinator, Akash Anand, thus facilitating his return to the party.
In a recent statement on X, Mayawati noted that Siddharth had "publicly apologised" for his earlier actions and committed himself fully to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's movement as well as the party's objectives.
She stated, "He recognized his errors a long time ago and has been remorseful at various levels. Today, he has openly conveyed his regret. Considering this, and in the interest of the party and its mission, his expulsion has been annulled immediately."
Mayawati expressed optimism that Siddharth, like other party members, would "contribute body, mind, and wealth" to fortify the BSP and advance Ambedkar's vision of empowering the Bahujan Samaj.
Siddharth, originally from Farrukhabad, had previously taken to social media to issue a comprehensive apology.
