Bettiah (Bihar), December 14 (NationPress) BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal expressed his enthusiastic support for the initiative to establish a memorial in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, dedicated to the countless Kar Sevaks who laid down their lives for the construction of the Ram Temple.
“I extend my gratitude to the Ram Temple Trust for designating land for this memorial, situated near the Ayodhya Temple. This act will preserve the essence of Indian culture, faith, and the spirit of sacrifice,” Jaiswal remarked to IANS.
He characterized the upcoming memorial as a testament to the reverence for religious faith and an acknowledgment of national history.
“The nation will forever remember the sacrifices of all those devoted to Ram, including the Kothari brothers, who gave everything to uphold faith and values,” stated the BJP representative from Paschim Champaran.
Brothers Ram Kothari and Sharad Kothari, from Kolkata, made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1990 Ram Janmabhoomi movement, becoming martyrs after leading Kar Sevaks to raise a saffron flag on the disputed Babri Masjid on October 30, 1990. They were tragically shot by police on November 2, 1990.
The MP highlighted that the Ram Mandir Trust’s resolution to construct the memorial is a fitting tribute to all devotees of Lord Ram who have fought valiantly over the centuries.
“This memorial will honor the sacrifices made by thousands of Indians who gave their lives for the Ram Temple movement over the past five and a half centuries, ensuring their legacy is enshrined forever,” he elaborated.
He noted that a magnificent temple will rise at the location where Ram Lalla was once situated before the idol was transferred to a permanent location.
Jaiswal’s homage to the Kothari brothers brings to light the memories of these two devoted individuals who traveled approximately 200 kilometers after their train was halted, arriving in Ayodhya on October 30, 1990, to partake in the Kar Seva. They were among the first to reach the contested site, raising a saffron flag on the Babri Masjid structure amidst police confrontations.
The two brothers were engaged in Ramdhuni Kirtan in Ayodhya when they were killed in police gunfire on November 2, 1990, alongside many other devotees.
