Millie Bobby Brown, the 22-year-old star of Stranger Things, has revealed that her baby daughter showed little enthusiasm when shown Enola Holmes — her mother's breakout Netflix film. Brown made the candid admission during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, offering a rare glimpse into family life since welcoming her daughter through adoption in 2025.

The Enola Holmes Screening That Fell Flat

Brown recounted sitting down with her daughter — whom she shares with husband Jake Bongiovi — to watch the first Enola Holmes film. The result was, by her own admission, underwhelming. 'I did show her Enola Holmes 1, and she wasn't interested at all, and then I said, ‘Tis I,’ and she looked up because I sounded like mom, you know?' Brown said.

The moment of recognition lasted only briefly. 'She liked it. She watched like five minutes and then got completely disinterested, but it was very nice to be able to show her that, you know, all of my childhood is on Netflix,' Brown added, laughing off the lukewarm reception.

A Private Chapter: Adoption and Family Life

Brown and Bongiovi have been deliberately low-key about their daughter's identity since announcing her arrival. The couple have not publicly shared the baby's name or photographs showing her face. In their 2025 announcement, they wrote: 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in peace and privacy.'

The actress has since spoken openly about the emotional weight of the adoption journey. On a recent episode of the Not Gonna Lie podcast, she offered advice to others considering adoption: 'Every journey is different. Waiting for the call is the hardest part. I just would always encourage you to understand that every journey is different. Don't compare yourself to others, don't compare yourself to statistics, don't compare yourself to other families, but your baby is out there, and you’ll find each other.'

She added: 'That’s something I prayed for every night. I was just very grateful that our baby was out there and we found each other.'

The Bon Jovi Connection: Doting Grandparents

Brown also revealed that her parents-in-law — rock legend Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea — have embraced their grandfather and grandmother roles with enthusiasm. 'They just had her the other day for the whole day, and they went to Target and got like a cart full of things for her. You know he’s just always on the floor crawling around with her and dying laughing, videoing every new thing she does,' she said.

'He’s the best and so is Dorothea, my amazing mother-in-law. They’re the most present grandparents, and we couldn’t be luckier to have them in her life,' Brown added.
