Varanasi, Nov 8 (NationPress) On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi, emphasizing that infrastructure has been instrumental in the progress of nations.

Addressing the attendees, PM Modi remarked, “I witnessed the remarkable celebration of Dev Deepawali here. Today is equally significant. Infrastructure has a vital role in the advancement of countries. Imagine a place without a railway station — once it is established, development commences. Consider an area lacking roads; the construction of roads enables farmers to transport their goods to markets, initiating progress. Infrastructure encompasses more than just bridges or buildings — wherever such advancements occur, growth follows.”

“Our nation is advancing on this very path. In this spirit, new Vande Bharat trains are being launched throughout the country. In addition to the Kashi–Khajuraho Vande Bharat, today we also flagged off the Firozpur–Delhi, Lucknow–Saharanpur, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express trains. Now, over 160 Vande Bharat trains are operational across India,” PM Modi stated.

He highlighted that currently, more than 160 Vande Bharat trains are in operation nationwide. “I want to extend my congratulations to the people of Varanasi and the entire nation for this milestone,” he said.

“Today, NaMo Bharat and Amrit Bharat are laying the groundwork for the future. This initiative aims to enhance Indian Railways. Vande Bharat serves the people, is created by the people, and embodies the spirit of the Indian populace. Once deemed impossible, these trains are now being produced in our own country — showcasing India’s prowess. Foreigners are astonished by the Vande Bharat trains,” he added.

On the topic of India’s spiritual and cultural ties, PM Modi noted, “In India, pilgrimage journeys have always served as a means of awakening the nation’s consciousness. These journeys extend beyond mere temple visits; they embody sacred traditions that unite the essence of India. Destinations like Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Haridwar, Chitrakoot, and Kurukshetra signify our rich spiritual legacy.

“As these sacred sites are now interconnected via the Vande Bharat network, they link India’s culture, faith, and developmental journey,” he remarked.

Focusing on enhancements in public health services, the Prime Minister remarked, “We are striving to make facilities in Banaras a unique experience for all. Our government has been consistently upgrading healthcare services in Prayagraj and Kashi. A decade ago, individuals suffering from severe ailments had limited options — either the district hospital or BHU. The patient influx was so high that many had to wait overnight without receiving treatment. For serious conditions like cancer, patients often had to sell their land to seek treatment in Mumbai.”

Point of View

It is clear that the government’s commitment to infrastructure development is not just a policy but a transformative vision for the nation. The launch of new Vande Bharat trains is a testament to the progress that can be achieved when we invest in connectivity and public health. It is imperative that we continue to support such initiatives that are crucial for the nation's growth and unity.
