Varanasi, Nov 8 (NationPress) On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with students aboard the Vande Bharat train in Varanasi, where the students expressed their enthusiasm for the train's launch. Later, they recounted their discussions with the Prime Minister to IANS.

One student mentioned, “This is my first experience on the Vande Bharat. It fills me with happiness and pride to be on this train. I extend my gratitude to my teachers and the Railway Minister for this opportunity. PM Modi spoke with me about contributing to the cleanliness of Varanasi and supporting the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Another student shared, “PM Modi admired my painting and inquired about its theme. I explained that my inspiration came from ISRO and DRDO, reflecting our nation's progress. He also encouraged us to prioritize cleanliness.”

A third student commented, “PM Modi asked how I was selected among my peers. I explained that I won an essay competition focused on Viksit Banaras.”

Another student added, “PM Modi listened to my poem.”

One more student expressed, “This is an incredible feeling. It feels as if I am on an airplane. Engaging with PM Modi was a remarkable experience.”

Earlier that day, PM Modi inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi, highlighting the importance of infrastructure in national development.

While addressing the audience, PM Modi remarked, “I witnessed your extraordinary celebrations of Dev Deepawali. Today is also a significant day. Infrastructure plays a crucial role in a country's development. Think of a locality without a railway station; once established, progress commences naturally. Consider areas lacking roads; once constructed, farmers can access markets, initiating growth. Infrastructure transcends bridges and buildings — development follows wherever such advancements occur.”

“The nation is advancing on this very path. In this spirit, new Vande Bharat trains are being launched nationwide. Besides the Kashi–Khajuraho Vande Bharat, we also inaugurated the Firozpur–Delhi, Lucknow–Saharanpur, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express trains today. Currently, there are over 160 Vande Bharat trains operational across India,” PM Modi stated.

He confirmed that 160 new Vande Bharat trains are now in service across the country.

“More than 160 new Vande Bharat trains are operational in the nation. I congratulate the citizens of Varanasi and all of India for this milestone,” he added.

“Today, NaMo Bharat and Amrit Bharat are establishing the groundwork for the future. This initiative aims to expand Indian Railways. Vande Bharat is for the people, by the people, and of the people of India. Once deemed impossible, today, these trains are constructed in our nation — showcasing India's strength. Foreigners are astonished to see Vande Bharat,” he concluded.
