He also included a 1-minute 53-second video featuring ecstatic crowds chanting “Narendra Modi” and waving their hands, showcasing the strong public enthusiasm during the event.
In another message, PM Modi stated, “During the roadshow in Nagercoil yesterday, I paid tribute to Thiru K. Kamaraj, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Thiru CN Annadurai, and Thiru MGR.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister conducted a vibrant roadshow in Nagercoil town, located in Kanyakumari district, attracting large crowds as Tamil Nadu prepares for the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for April 23.
Part of an intensified campaign for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), PM Modi was accompanied by AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami, state BJP President Nainar Nagenthran, and former state BJP chief K. Annamalai.
Senior BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan was also in attendance.
PM Modi arrived in Thiruvananthapuram from New Delhi and subsequently flew by helicopter to Nagercoil. Right after his arrival, he commenced an open-top vehicle roadshow that spanned around 1.5 kilometers, from Veppamoodu junction to Vadasery. Standing atop a specially adorned vehicle, the Prime Minister waved to the enthusiastic supporters who gathered in significant numbers along both sides of the route.
The crowd responded with loud chants and cheers, with many showering flower petals in a gesture of welcome. Party workers and members of the public showed up in large numbers, reflecting the heightened political energy in the region.
This roadshow is part of the BJP-led NDA’s assertive campaign strategy in Tamil Nadu, where political activities have intensified leading up to the elections.
Leaders from various parties have been actively traversing the state to engage voters and solidify support bases. The presence of key alliance leaders alongside the Prime Minister highlighted the importance the NDA places on southern Tamil Nadu, especially Kanyakumari district, which has been politically significant in previous elections.
With only days left for campaigning to wrap up, this visit is poised to invigorate party members and enhance the NDA’s prospects in the area.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are set to take place on April 23, with vote counting scheduled for May 4.
