CM Saini delivered these remarks while inaugurating the Diwali Mela at Surajkund in Faridabad.
Prior to this event, he paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in honor of their birth anniversaries.
Additionally, he conveyed his best wishes to the public on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
During his address, CM Saini shared that this year’s Diwali Mela is themed 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat -- Swadeshi Mela' and 'We Unite Families'.
He drew parallels between India's freedom struggle and the current Swadeshi movement, asserting that just as it fortified our quest for independence, it will also enhance India's path to prosperity.
He encouraged citizens to support made-in-India products that embody the dedication of Indian youth.
According to the Chief Minister, the Diwali Mela, running until October 7, serves as a lively avenue for celebration, local commerce, culture, and art.
He noted that the mela uplifts the spirits of artisans nationwide.
"Purchasing items here not only supports artisans but also contributes to India's self-reliance," he stated.
CM Saini announced a nationwide Aatmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan aimed at transforming the Swadeshi pledge into a collective movement.
This initiative will persist until December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He highlighted that the artworks, products, music, and performances featured at the mela create a miniature representation of India.
The Cultural Zone embodies the essence of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'.
The mela also provides rural producers with insights into urban consumer preferences.
