Bhopal, April 16 (NationPress) In a significant step towards Census 2027, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, actively participated in the state's digital census campaign on Thursday, urging citizens to take part in this essential initiative that will influence the future of the state.

CM Yadav encouraged the public, stating, “I urge all citizens of Madhya Pradesh to complete the self-enumeration form and provide necessary information when the census team visits your home. This is vital for securing a bright future for our children.”

The digital census campaign has been launched from April 16 to April 30, coinciding with the nationwide self-enumeration phase for Census 2027. By taking part, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of this initiative and aims to foster significant public involvement.

“In Madhya Pradesh, the digital census campaign runs from April 16 to April 30, and I am actively participating. I appeal to everyone to engage wholeheartedly in this digital census,” he expressed.

Emphasizing the broader implications of the census, Yadav remarked that the collected data would substantially affect development planning across various sectors. “The census will facilitate future planning for essential services, including schools, hospitals, and other public facilities and infrastructure,” he noted.

As part of the campaign, extensive preparations are being made throughout Madhya Pradesh.

District collectors have been assigned as key authorities to manage the implementation, with local administrations working diligently to outline enumeration blocks in both urban and rural settings to ensure comprehensive coverage.

In alignment with the Central Government's initiative for a digital-first census, Madhya Pradesh has enhanced its IT framework, supporting mobile app-based data gathering and online self-enumeration. Awareness initiatives are being conducted at both district and local levels to motivate citizens to utilize the digital platform during the April 16–30 period.

The Census 2027 process will be executed in two stages across the nation. The first stage, which includes House Listing and Housing Census, offers a self-enumeration option for citizens to submit their information digitally.

This initial phase collects data regarding housing conditions, amenities, and assets. The subsequent phase will involve officials conducting door-to-door data collection to record demographic and socio-economic information.

With the administrative framework fully engaged and the Chief Minister leading the charge, Madhya Pradesh aims to establish a standard for conducting a transparent, inclusive, and technology-driven census.
