Mandla (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 14 (NationPress) In an unprecedented move to enhance agricultural welfare, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday allocated a remarkable Rs 1,671 crore directly into the bank accounts of 83 lakh farmers across Madhya Pradesh.

This financial disbursement, executed via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, coincided perfectly with Lord Balram Jayanti—a significant day celebrated by farming communities that symbolizes agricultural strength and prosperity.

The event took place in Mandla district and attracted thousands of farmers, local leaders, and officials.

While addressing the crowd, CM Yadav emphasized that the DBT represents the government’s unwavering commitment to empowering farmers and providing timely, transparent financial assistance.

“Lord Balram embodies resilience and agricultural might. On this auspicious day, we reaffirm our commitment to support our farmers, who are the true architects of our economy,” he stated.

The funds were distributed under the Kisan Kalyan Yojana, a prominent scheme that complements the central government’s PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. Through this joint initiative, eligible farmers receive an annual sum of Rs 12,000—Rs 6,000 from the Centre and Rs 6,000 from the state, delivered in quarterly installments of Rs 3,000 each.

The scheme aims to provide reliable income support to farmers for acquiring seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs.

The funds are transferred directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the DBT system, ensuring complete transparency and eliminating delays.

To be eligible, farmers must complete e-KYC and maintain updated land records. This initiative not only strengthens rural livelihoods but also helps reduce reliance on informal credit sources, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and long-term economic resilience.

The scheme underscores that the DBT system cuts out middlemen, ensuring that benefits reach farmers directly.

This Rs 1,671 crore transfer represents one of the largest single-day financial distributions in the state’s history and is expected to alleviate pre-sowing financial pressures significantly.

The program also included cultural performances and exhibitions that showcased local agricultural innovations.

With this initiative, Madhya Pradesh continues to excel in farmer welfare and digital governance, merging traditional values with modern technology to deliver impactful results.
