Chennai, July 26 (NationPress) The renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal on Saturday paid homage to the valiant members of the Indian Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation on the significant occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Through his social media platforms, Mohanlal expressed, "Kargil Vijay Diwas, a moment to remember the heroes who gave their lives to safeguard our homeland. Their legacy continues to inspire us. Jai Hind!"

Actor Unni Mukundan also honored the memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in service to the nation.

He shared a poster on his Instagram stories that read, "25 years of Kargil victory. A tribute to every braveheart of Kargil who contributed to the success of Operation Vijay."

Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated throughout India on July 26 each year to celebrate India's remarkable victory over Pakistan during the 1999 Kargil War. For those unfamiliar, Pakistani forces, along with militants supported by Pakistan's military, infiltrated into India's Kargil region in February 1999 and occupied strategic positions.

Upon detecting their presence, the Indian Armed Forces rose to the challenge, engaging in intense combat across the region. The determination of the spirited Indian army, committed to reclaiming every inch of territory seized by the infiltrators, compelled the Pakistani forces to hastily retreat and withdraw from Indian land. The Indian Armed Forces' decisive and glorious triumph at Kargil is celebrated annually as Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26.

On a professional note, Mohanlal is currently involved in several exciting film projects. His next release is the highly anticipated family drama 'Hridayapoorvam', directed by Sathyan Anthikad.

This film is helmed by one of Malayalam cinema's legendary directors, known for his heartwarming stories. Anthikad's previous collaborations with Mohanlal have produced timeless classics, thus expectations for this film are incredibly high.
