New Delhi, Nov 5 (NationPress) India's leading producer of manganese ore, MOIL, has achieved its highest-ever October output of 1.6 lakh tonnes, reflecting a remarkable growth of 9.1 percent compared to the same month last year, as reported by the Ministry of Steel on Wednesday.
In the first seven months of FY26, the company has produced 11.04 lakh tonnes, marking an 8.5 percent increase compared to the previous year's figures for the same period.
Staying committed to exploration, MOIL has recorded its most extensive exploratory core drilling of 57,275 metres from April to October 2025, the statement revealed.
This public sector entity has maintained a vigorous drilling pace, achieving a record Q2 exploratory core drilling of 21,035 metres, which indicates a 4.1 percent increase over the same quarter last year.
MOIL's chairman and managing director, Ajit Kumar Saxena, commented on the positive trend: "It is heartening to see the production growth sustained over the first seven months. Our team is prepared to deliver another stellar performance this year."
MOIL, categorized as a Schedule 'A' Miniratna Category-I Public Sector Undertaking, specializes in mining and supplying manganese, operating both underground and opencast mines in the Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra and the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.
Additionally, the MOIL Board has sanctioned an interim dividend of Rs. 4.02 per share for the fiscal year 2024-25, representing a 15 percent increase over last year's interim dividend of Rs. 3.50 per share.
Moreover, the board has approved five shaft sinking projects, including two ventilation shafts for the Dongri Buzurg Mine, Chikla Mine, and Kandri Mine, estimated at Rs. 886 crore. These projects aim to maintain and boost production levels in the upcoming years.
