Has MOIL Set New Records in Q3 and April-Dec Production?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) MOIL, India's leading producer of manganese ore, has marked an unprecedented production performance for the financial year 2025-26 (April-December), achieving record figures for both the third quarter and the initial nine months of the current fiscal, as reported by the Ministry of Steel on Tuesday.
In Q3 of FY 2025-26, MOIL recorded a historic manganese ore output of 4.77 lakh tonnes, reflecting a growth of approximately 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year (CPLY).
This production level represents the highest third-quarter output the company has achieved since its establishment.
Additionally, MOIL has reported its best-ever nine-month production totaling 14.21 lakh tonnes, which is an increase of around 6.8 percent compared to CPLY.
This continuous enhancement in production is attributed to focused mine planning, operational discipline, increased mechanization, and the committed efforts of MOIL’s workforce across all operational units, as highlighted by the ministry.
MOIL concluded November with impressive operational milestones across its value chain. In November, the Raw Material Handling System (RMHS) achieved record-breaking figures, with a peak of 616 wagons tipped on November 21. The plant also reached its highest monthly base mix production of 5,18,886 tonnes.
At the Sinter Plant, NSL sustained its growth trajectory by setting daily and monthly sinter production records, achieving 15,590 tonnes in a single day on November 30 and 4,14,271 tonnes for the month, operating at over 105 percent of rated capacity utilization, as per the official statement.
The Blast Furnace demonstrated exceptional efficiency with a record hot metal output of 11,315 tonnes on November 28, achieving 119 percent of rated capacity utilization, alongside a monthly production of 2,80,049 tonnes, exceeding 101 percent capacity utilization.
Notably, NSL accomplished its monthly average lowest fuel rate of 519 kg per tonne of hot metal by exclusively utilizing Sinter and Ore in the burden, which ranks among the best in the nation, and achieved a monthly average PCI rate of 164 kg per tonne of hot metal.
Amitava Mukherjee, CMD, stated, “The ongoing record-breaking accomplishments across units underscore the dedication, discipline, and determination of our team.”
