Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 12 (NationPress) Actress Mrunal Thakur, who is eagerly anticipating the launch of her forthcoming film ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’, shared the story of her first encounter with the film’s director, Ravi Udyawar.
The actress recounted that their initial meeting took place in the elevator of her new residential building, where her mother recognized the director before she did.
Reflecting on how she got involved in the project, she stated, “It took me literally no time to say yes to this film. I actually met Ravi sir in the elevator of my new building. I had just moved in, and while I was standing with my mom, she exclaimed, ‘Oh my God, I love the film ‘MOM’ that you made’. She recognized him first. I then told him, ‘Sir, I’m a huge admirer of your work and I would love to work with you someday’. He smiled and suggested, ‘Let’s catch up’.
She added, “Within a week, he reached out to me to see what I was up to. I told him, ‘Sir, I’ve just packed my bags, I’m heading to Dubai, but I have about an hour and a half to spare’. He promptly invited me to his place, saying, ‘I have something to share with you’. Kalpana ma’am was also present. I literally went up in my slippers. He said, ‘We have a story for you’. I responded, ‘Fantastic. Please tell me more’. He gave me a brief overview, and I insisted, ‘No, I want to hear this in detail’. The very next day, I returned to Ravi sir’s office. Abhi and Ruchi presented the full script to me, and I was completely captivated. I said, ‘Let’s do it’. By April, we were already in production, shooting the film.”
The film also features Siddhant Chaturvedi and is produced by Zee Studios, Bhansali Productions, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal, and Bharat Kumar Ranga in collaboration with Ravi Udyawar Films. It is scheduled to hit theaters around Valentine's week on February 20, 2026.
