How Is Mumbai BJP Celebrating UNESCO's Recognition of Shivaji Forts?

Mumbai, July 12 (NationPress) In honor of UNESCO’s decision to bestow the esteemed ‘Maratha Military Landscapes’ World Heritage designation on 12 forts established by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the visionary founder of Hindavi Swarajya, the Mumbai BJP is set to host Shiv Aarti and Shiv Jallosh (celebratory events) at 106 venues throughout Mumbai this Sunday.

The festivities commenced today with a grand event at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park, celebrating this significant milestone in Maharashtra’s rich cultural history. The forts constructed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are not only remarkable architectural feats but also serve as lasting symbols of the courage and vision that characterized Hindavi Swarajya.

With UNESCO’s recognition of these 12 legendary forts as World Heritage Sites, Maharashtra experiences a moment of international historical pride.

To commemorate this historic occasion, a large assembly of Mumbai BJP members gathered for a special celebration at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park in Dadar, where Mumbai BJP President and Maharashtra’s Minister for Cultural Affairs, Ashish Shelar, paid floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with the sounds of dhol-tasha (traditional drums) and the chants of ‘Jai Shivray, Jai Bhavani’, creating an electrifying ambiance across the Dadar area.

This global acknowledgment of Shivaji Maharaj’s remarkable leadership and vision brings immense pride to every Shiv bhakt and resident of Maharashtra.

The entire Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park resonated with a profound ‘Shiv’ spirit, alive with energetic drumbeats, slogans, and joyous celebrations.

On this occasion, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MLAs Sanjay Upadhyay, Yogesh Sagar, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Pravin Darekar, Captain R Tamil Selvan, along with BJP district presidents, office-bearers, and numerous karyakartas participated in significant numbers to honor the celebrations.

Meanwhile, the festivities will continue on Sunday with Shiv Aarti and Shiv Jallosh planned at 106 locations across Mumbai to commemorate this proud moment, as stated in a release from Minister Shelar’s office.

Previously, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remarked: “The legacy of the Shivaji-era heritage now resonates globally. The inclusion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 12 forts as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is not just a point of pride for Maharashtra but also a glorious honor for the entire nation, celebrating our cultural excellence and the heroic history of the Marathas. We extend our sincere gratitude to Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for facilitating this historic initiative on a global platform.”

Minister Shelar stated: “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, with his courage, valor, and commitment to safeguarding Swarajya, our native language, and Hindavi Swarajya, has seen his forts and bastions recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. The unique global significance of these forts was adeptly presented to UNESCO through the collaborative efforts of the Maharashtra and central governments, culminating in this success.
