Hyderabad, Oct 8 (NationPress) The Mumbai Meteors celebrated yet another remarkable 3-0 victory in the Prime Volleyball League, taking place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, on Wednesday, as they triumphed over the Delhi Toofans with scores of 15-12, 15-10, and 15-11. Om Lad Vasant earned the title of Player of the Match.

The Toofans' Muhammad Jasim surprised the Meteors with an ace serve, but Abhinav Salar responded brilliantly, securing an early super point. Despite Delhi's solid defense, Shubham Chaudhary consistently exploited openings, providing the Meteors with offensive strength.

Captain Amit Gulia placed service pressure on Delhi's libero Anand, enhancing Mumbai's offensive strategies. Carlos Berrios delivered a super point with a fierce spike, yet Delhi struggled to dismantle an in-form Mumbai squad.

Toofans' captain Saqlain Tariq rallied his team, particularly after a successful review call. However, Jesus Chourio's powerful attempts were thwarted by a three-man block led by Abhinav.

Abhinav delivered another ace, further solidifying the Meteors' command, thanks to exceptional distribution from setter Om Lad Vasant. Although Chourio tried to escalate his performance, it was too late as Mumbai, with disciplined aggression and impressive blocking from Mathias Loftesnes and Petter Alstad Ostvik, clinched their third consecutive win without dropping a single set.

In earlier action, the Kolkata Thunderbolts came from behind to defeat the Kochi Blue Spikers 12-15, 15-13, 15-6, 19-17 at the same venue. Pankaj Sharma was awarded Player of the Match.

After a victory against the Goa Guardians, Kochi put up a strong fight with Hemanth delivering powerful serves. Kolkata's captain Ashwal Rai continued his impactful play as an outside hitter, with Pankaj Sharma proving to be Kolkata's primary threat early on, challenging Kochi's defense.
