Yangon, April 10 (NationPress) As of Thursday, Myanmar has recorded 112 aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 2.8 to 7.5, as reported by the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
The seismic activity followed a catastrophic 7.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the nation on March 28.
The death toll from this earthquake has reached 3,649 as of 6 pm local time on Wednesday, according to the Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council.
Additionally, 5,018 people were injured, and 145 individuals remain unaccounted for, the report indicated.
The earthquake has severely impacted 6,730 mobile communication stations, as stated by the state-run daily The Mirror on Wednesday.
As of April 6, 5,999 stations have been restored, while 731 stations are still undergoing repairs.
Moreover, 15 post offices in Myanmar temporarily halted operations due to the earthquake but resumed services on March 31.
