Mumbai, April 17 (NationPress) Veteran actress Nafisa Ali provided a health update by posting a picture of a lengthy surgical scar she refers to as her “great wall”.

She explained that this scar has reappeared after eight years, emphasizing that she feels increasingly strong as she continues her fight against cancer.

Nafisa shared the close-up image on Instagram, showcasing a long, vertical surgical incision that is stitched with staples.

In her post, Nafisa, who was diagnosed with stage 3 peritoneal and ovarian cancer in 2018, wrote: “My Great Wall - exactly cut again 8 years later and it’s recreated 18” long across my abdomen in my cancer fight. I am feeling stronger. Love you my beautiful world.”

The actress made her acting debut in the 1979 film Junoon directed by Shyam Benegal, featuring Shashi Kapoor. She has also appeared in notable films like Major Saab with Amitabh Bachchan, Bewafaa, Life In A… Metro, Guzaarish, and Yamla Pagla Deewana. Additionally, she was featured in the Malayalam film Big B alongside Mammootty.

In 2004, the 69-year-old actress ran for a seat in the Lok Sabha elections from South Kolkata but did not succeed.

In 2009, she contested the Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow on the Samajwadi Party ticket following the disqualification of Sanjay Dutt by the Supreme Court due to a previous conviction. Later, she rejoined the Indian National Congress party in November 2009, stating her commitment to the party for life.

However, she switched to the All India Trinamool Congress in October 2021 in preparation for the 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election.
