Transformative Changes at Neemuch Railway Station Under Amrit Bharat Initiative

In a conversation with IANS, Rajendra Sharma, a local resident, shared his perspective on the station's transformation: “The Neemuch station was in dire straits previously, but now, owing to the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, it has been entirely overhauled. The platforms are larger, train services have increased, and there’s clean, holy water for drinking. The entire station has greatly improved, and we even have a designated parking area.”

Bhavesh, a traveler from Ujjain, voiced similar sentiments: "I visited Neemuch station a few years back, and it was filthy, with animals wandering around. But now, everything has transformed—there's clean water, a well-maintained station, and it looks stunning. This change has occurred because of our PM Modi. Indian Railways has truly elevated its standards."

Khemraj Meena, the Public Relations Officer for Railways, highlighted the ongoing progress: "The Neemuch station is over 70 percent completed in its redevelopment. The circulating area has been enhanced, and the work on parking and beautification is nearing completion. We are committed to ensuring that this station will soon be fully modernised, providing a world-class experience."

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is part of a larger initiative to upgrade 1,275 stations throughout the Indian Railways network. Focusing on enhancing accessibility, cleanliness, and passenger amenities, the initiative intends to transform stations into lively hubs that connect cities and foster multimodal travel. The long-term vision includes developing Master Plans for each station, ensuring they evolve into not just transport hubs, but vibrant urban centres.
