New Delhi, Oct 24 (NationPress) A spectacular event is in the works by the Union Home Ministry for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31 in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. This celebration aims to emphasize the essence of unity and patriotism while honoring the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, as stated by an official on Friday.
This day serves to highlight India’s unity, integrity, and national solidarity, paying homage to Patel’s crucial role in merging 562 princely states and establishing the groundwork for modern India.
This year’s festivities will feature an impressive parade and a vibrant cultural festival. During the parade, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and state police units will exhibit their skills, discipline, and valor, according to the announcement.
The National Unity Day parade will showcase contingents from the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashstra Seema Bal (SSB), along with police forces from states such as Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and the NCC.
The parade will also include cavalry units and camel-mounted contingents, demonstrations by indigenous dog breeds, and various martial arts and unarmed combat exhibitions.
Highlighting the participation of women, the Guard of Honour for Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be led by a female officer. Women personnel from CISF and CRPF will showcase martial arts and unarmed combat drills, exemplifying the strength and bravery of India's daughters, as stated in the announcement.
This year's parade will also present a marching contingent consisting entirely of Indian breed dogs from BSF, along with the Gujarat Police’s Horse contingent, the Assam Police’s Motorcycle Daredevil show, and the BSF’s Camel Contingent and Camel Mounted Band, which will be key attractions.
In addition, indigenous dog breeds like Rampur Hounds and Mudhol Hounds will demonstrate their skills, having played significant roles as force multipliers during BSF operations, embodying the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, according to the official statement.
Recently, at the All India Police Dog Competition, the Mudhol Hound “Riya” secured first place and will lead the dog squad in this year’s parade, as per the statement.
To enhance this year’s parade, brass bands from BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, Delhi Police, and the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Jammu & Kashmir will also participate.
This year’s event will feature five Shaurya Chakra awardees from CRPF and 16 gallantry medal recipients from BSF. These courageous individuals have shown exceptional bravery in anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand and counter-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir. BSF personnel have demonstrated unmatched valor during Operation Sindoor along the western border.
Alongside the parade, a cultural program organized by the Ministry of Culture will showcase 900 artists performing India's classical dances, highlighting the rich diversity of our culture and national unity.
