Key Takeaways
Mumbai, February 23 (NationPress) Bollywood star Neil Nitin Mukesh has made the decision to step down as the brand ambassador for the music reality show "Universal Idol" due to unresolved financial disputes with the event organizers, HMC Events.
In a recent post on social media, Neil revealed that three cheques issued by the organizers were returned unpaid. Despite multiple attempts by him and his team to address the issue, there was no satisfactory outcome.
His announcement stated, "I hereby formally declare my exit as Brand Ambassador from 'The Universal Idol' linked with HMC Events. My payment agreements have not been honored despite repeated assurances. The return of three cheques signifies a serious breach of trust and commitment. My team and I have made numerous follow-ups and opportunities for a peaceful resolution, but to no avail."
Neil has officially distanced himself from "Universal Idol" and its organizers in every capacity.
He added, "Given the circumstances, I have withdrawn from all current and future collaborations with Universal Idol, HMC Events, and Mr. Shakeel Haasan along with his associates effective immediately."
Neil concluded his statement with a note for transparency, advising fellow artists, partners, vendors, and collaborators to exercise caution regarding claims, commitments, and payment assurances. "I reserve my rights to seek legal remedies available to me."
On the work front, Neil was last seen in the black comedy thriller "Ek Chatur Naar".
The film, directed by Umesh Shukla and written by Himanshu Tripathi, features Neil alongside Divya Khossla in a leading role.
Set in a quirky small-town Indian backdrop, the movie follows the story of a seemingly charming woman whose naive appearance conceals her sharp wit, allowing her to outsmart everyone around her. When a lucrative opportunity arises, she seizes it, leading to an unforeseen twist that tests her cleverness.
