Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained two additional suspects purportedly associated with the plot behind the bomb explosion in the Red Fort region of Delhi, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to eleven, as stated by the investigative agency.
The suspects have been named as Zameer Ahmad Ahangar from Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Tufail Ahmad Bhat from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
The NIA reports that both individuals were deeply involved in the conspiracy and had provided arms to the primary suspect in the bombing incident. The blast, which took place on November 10, 2025, resulted in the deaths of eleven people and left numerous others injured.
The primary suspect, Umer Un Nabi, also lost his life in the explosion.
The NIA is conducting a thorough investigation under an FIR to fully reveal the intricacies of the conspiracy. Evidence has shown that Zameer Ahmad and Tufail Ahmad were operating as Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for the proscribed terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
Collaborating closely with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, and additional security forces, the NIA discovered that the two were not only involved in the Delhi blast but also in various other terror-related operations, as further detailed in their statement.
They were reportedly involved in the procurement and collection of weapons intended for use against the Indian state, as evidenced by a detailed analysis of the findings.
The agency has identified that the plot for the blast was developed by Umer Un Nabi in conjunction with a group of other accused individuals, including Muzammil Ganai, Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan, Adeel Ahmed Rather, and five others, who provided shelter and logistical support to the main conspirators.
The earlier arrests of these nine individuals were made in various locations across Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana.
The NIA remains committed to uncovering the entire network and ensuring that all individuals involved in planning and executing the attack are brought to justice.
