New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken another significant step in the investigation of the Delhi bomb blast that tragically claimed the lives of 11 individuals and injured numerous others near the Red Fort last month. On Thursday, the agency apprehended Yasir Ahmad Dar, hailing from Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, making him the ninth suspect to be arrested in case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.
Yasir was captured by NIA officials in New Delhi and is facing charges under relevant sections of the UAPA Act 1967 and BNS 2023.
The investigations conducted by the NIA have indicated that Yasir played a crucial role in the plot behind the car bomb explosion that shook the national capital on November 10. He was an active conspirator who pledged allegiance and vowed to execute self-sacrificial missions, as stated in the agency's press release.
Moreover, the NIA's inquiries have uncovered that Yasir maintained close connections with other individuals involved in the case, including Dr. Umar Nabi (the deceased bomber) and Mufti Irfan.
Working diligently alongside various central and state agencies, the NIA continues its efforts to fully disclose the conspiracy surrounding this terror attack.
Previously this month, the agency conducted thorough searches at various locations linked to suspects in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, seizing several digital devices and other incriminating evidence.
These actions followed earlier searches at the residences of key suspects, including Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Gania and Dr. Shaheen Saeed, within the Al Falah University complex and other sites in Faridabad, Haryana.
It is worth noting that on December 9, the NIA detained the eighth suspect, Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla from Baramulla.
A sophisticated terror module composed of local medical professionals was dismantled by police in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, resulting in the arrest of conspirators Dr. Adil Rather and Dr. Muzammil Ganai, while the third conspirator, Dr. Umar Nabi, managed to evade capture.
Dr. Umar Nabi executed the blast using an explosive-laden vehicle near the Red Fort, resulting in his death along with the deaths of 11 innocent civilians.
