Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 1 (NationPress) In a significant development in the sexual-assault case involving suspended Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, the elusive politician submitted more evidence against the complainant today, sealed in an envelope to the court, as police ramped up their search efforts to locate and apprehend him.

Last week, he had already presented similar evidence, and a hearing for his anticipatory bail request is scheduled for Wednesday in the state's capital.

The newly submitted evidence, intended to challenge the allegations made by the complainant, consists of photographs, recorded phone calls, and a Hash Value Certificate for WhatsApp conversations, which aims to validate the authenticity of the digital data provided on a USB drive.

According to sources, Rahul Mamkootathil's legal approach is focused on questioning the credibility of the complainant. Investigators have confirmed that the Hash Certificate is crucial in demonstrating that the digital files remain unaltered.

The court has yet to review the contents of the sealed evidence, maintaining confidentiality and increasing public curiosity.

The case was initiated after a woman approached Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing the Congress MLA of sexual exploitation on multiple occasions; following this, police opened an investigation, and Rahul went into hiding.

Authorities report that Rahul Mamkootathil left his residence in Palakkad using strategic methods to evade detection. He allegedly chose paths without surveillance cameras and intentionally drove his red vehicle along various routes to mislead tracking units.

Despite extensive surveillance analysis conducted by the Special Branch, police have yet to pinpoint his exact escape route.

The investigation has expanded throughout various districts. Under the guidance of district police chiefs, search teams are actively deployed across Kerala, with support from a special investigation unit under the Thiruvananthapuram City Police.

Officials have confirmed they are tracking both digital and physical movements and believe his arrest is imminent. The police are closely monitoring Rahul's activities and communications, suggesting that he may be employing legal strategies while skillfully avoiding direct detention.

Investigators believe that the court's management of his sealed evidence submission, in conjunction with the escalating manhunt, could be decisive in shaping the future of this case, whether it swings in his favor or leads to an expedited arrest and prosecution.
