Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 26 (NationPress) Following his recent appointment, Vikas Mishra, the newly designated Collector of Sidhi District, promptly initiated an assessment of departmental progress by conducting a series of meetings with officials. An official reported that Mishra urged the team to prioritize both sensitivity and timely responses when handling public grievances. He emphasized that the administration's foremost aim must be to guarantee that government schemes benefit even the most disadvantaged individuals.
As part of this initiative, Mishra led a meeting on Thursday with representatives from the Education Department, where he evaluated the implementation of the government’s strategy to improve educational quality within the district.
The Collector encouraged the adoption of innovative teaching methods in schools to enhance student engagement and the effectiveness of learning.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that school laboratories are fully operational for practical learning experiences. Additionally, he highlighted the necessity to organize and optimize libraries in every school.
“Libraries should transcend being mere formalities; they must evolve into vital resources for enriching students’ knowledge. Regular usage of these facilities must be ensured,” he stated during Thursday's meeting.
Moreover, Mishra provided specific guidance regarding preparations for competitive exams, instructing that students receive the essential resources and mentorship to prepare for exams like NEET and JEE, helping those from rural backgrounds to compete on equal footing.
“Whenever improvements are necessary, targeted strategies must be developed and executed to enhance the district’s overall examination outcomes. All departments are expected to elevate their performance,” he remarked.
Mishra, an officer from the 2013 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) batch, has stepped in as Collector after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reassigned the former Collector, Swarochit Somvanshi, during a visit to Sidhi district on March 22.
During his visit, Yadav interacted with residents of Sidhi and evaluated administrative measures along with the implementation of various schemes, subsequently mandating the immediate suspension of P.S. Dhanwal, the General Manager of Sidhi District Cooperative Bank.
Expressing dissatisfaction regarding the slow progress of the collectorate building's construction in Sidhi, the Chief Minister instructed officials to accelerate the work and ensure its completion within the specified timeline while upholding quality standards.
Notably, after taking office on Wednesday, Mishra made an initial inspection of the ongoing construction of the collectorate building and convened a meeting with officials at his office.
