Kolkata, March 24 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national president, Nitin Nabin, is set to land in Kolkata on Tuesday for a whirlwind two-day itinerary, coinciding with the critical two-phase Assembly elections in the state.
According to a member of the BJP's state committee in West Bengal, Nabin will kick off his activities shortly after his arrival at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. “Around 11 a.m., he will initiate his agenda with a meeting with the core leadership of the party in West Bengal at a hotel located in New Town, where he will be accommodating during his visit,” stated the party’s state committee member.
This meeting will concentrate on strategizing for the party’s two organizational zones in West Bengal: Kolkata and Howrah-Hooghly-East Midnapore-West Midnapore.
“Following this, he will engage with the members of the party’s Information Technology, social media department, and the narrative creation unit in West Bengal,” added the committee member.
In the evening, he will convene with the central party leaders and Union Ministers who are currently campaigning in West Bengal,” the state committee member noted.
Additionally, Nabin is scheduled for a full agenda in West Bengal on Wednesday, with further details to be released to the media later on Tuesday.
One of the crucial objectives of Nabin’s visit is to finalize the content of the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections, referred to as the “Sankalp Patra”.
The West Bengal BJP aims to unveil the manifesto on March 28, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah expected to be in the state for organizational and campaigning efforts.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress released its election manifesto on March 20, presenting a 10-point promise for various sectors in West Bengal. The release dates for the manifestos from the CPI(M)-led Left Front and Congress remain unannounced.
Voting for the West Bengal Assembly elections is scheduled to occur in two phases on April 23 and April 29, covering 152 constituencies in the first phase and another 142 in the second phase.
