What Are BJP's Plans for West Bengal During HM Shah and Nitin Nabin's Visit?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to conduct a series of internal organisational meetings during the visits of its newly-elected national president Nitin Nabin and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to West Bengal this month. These visits will concentrate solely on strategizing for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, which are scheduled for later this year.
A member of the BJP's state committee in West Bengal stated, "Neither Nabin nor the Union Home Minister will engage in any public rallies during their trips to Bengal this month. Their primary focus will be on meetings with state BJP leaders to discuss election strategies and specific issues relevant to the Assembly polls."
Nabin is expected to arrive in Kolkata on January 27 for a two-day engagement, which will include a closed-door meeting with key state BJP leaders.
The following day, he has a programme planned in Burdwan in the East Burdwan district, although specific details of the agenda are yet to be revealed.
On January 30, the Union Home Minister will make a one-day visit to West Bengal, also prioritizing internal organisational meetings over public engagements.
The state committee member added, "Both Nabin and the Union Home Minister's schedules are tailored to focus on organisational activities. The announcement for the West Bengal Assembly elections is anticipated by the end of February or early March this year, before which both leaders will concentrate on internal meetings regarding election strategies."
It is noteworthy that during his last visit to West Bengal last month, HM Shah similarly avoided public engagements, opting instead for internal organisational discussions, with his only public activity being a press conference.
