Patna, Nov 27 (NationPress) - On Thursday, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar carried out a thorough review of several crucial road and flyover initiatives in Patna, urging officials to hasten the pace of construction.
The Chief Minister remarked, “Today, I examined the development work for the railway overbridge at Sipara Gumti, along with the Sipara–Mithapur elevated road, which is part of the Mithapur–Mahuli–Punpun road (Phase-2). I directed that these projects be completed swiftly and with high quality.”
He noted that the completion of these projects will significantly enhance traffic flow in Patna, alleviate congestion, and simplify travel along the Patna–Gaya corridor.
During his inspection, the Chief Minister also evaluated the approach road and service road linking the Mithapur flyover to the Chiraiyatand flyover.
“Once this flyover is finished, it will alleviate traffic bottlenecks in the Karbighhia area, greatly benefiting the public,” he added.
Nitish Kumar was accompanied during the inspection by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Chandrashekher Singh, Patna DM Tyagarajan SM, Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma, and other officials.
Earlier this year, on June 16, the first phase of the Mithapur-Mahuli four-lane elevated road was inaugurated by Nitish Kumar, designed to reduce traffic congestion and enhance connectivity in Patna and its surrounding areas.
This newly inaugurated section, extending from Bhupatipur to Punpun, is a significant project for Nitish Kumar, linking to the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi NH-83, thus promising a quicker and smoother commute to Jehanabad, Gaya, Dhanbad, Kolkata, and Ranchi.
The road is anticipated to notably decrease traffic on already congested routes such as the Patna Bypass.
This marks his fourth inspection in just four days to monitor the progress of ongoing road and infrastructure projects in Patna.
On Wednesday, Kumar reviewed the Danapur–Bihta elevated road and urged officials to expedite the work. The day prior, he inspected the Mandiri drain, Serpentine drain, and Rajiv Nagar drain, where road construction proposals are underway.
On Monday, the Chief Minister also evaluated the newly constructed MLA flats.
