Bhubaneswar, Nov 24 (NationPress) The Odisha Cabinet convened on Monday to approve three significant proposals from the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department during a meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the Lok Seva Bhawan.
During a media briefing, Additional Chief Secretary Surendra Kumar revealed that the first approved proposal involves amendments to the Combined Higher Secondary Level and Specialist Recruitment Examination Rules. This amendment includes the addition of the Junior Forensic Assistant position to Schedule I, which is now composed of 12 posts to be assessed through a combined examination.
The second proposal focuses on revisions to the Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination Rules for various Group B and Group C positions across different state cadre services. With the inclusion of four new posts in Schedule-I, the total now stands at 34.
The third proposal addresses modifications to the Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination Rules for Group-B and Group-C posts under the Special Sports and Services Rules, 2022. This change results in the removal of four posts from the current schedule, while some positions have been either merged or reassigned to other examinations. Notably, this includes the position under the Small Savings Department and two posts related to law enforcement, specifically the Dog Squad role in the Police Department.
Kumar emphasized that the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission, which received Cabinet approval last Friday, will now oversee the recruitment for these uniformed roles.
With a total of 14 new posts added and four removed, Schedule-I will now encompass 25 positions, all of which will be filled through a unified examination.
“These modifications are aimed at enhancing the recruitment process and increasing efficiency within the system,” Kumar stated.
